Looks like you could off road with that quite well.
Have you done so?
There are basically two Ural formats, a 1WD version and a 2WD version. The 2WD version has a manually engaged drive shaft to the sidecar wheel. The final drive for the 2WD has no differential, though, so when you engage 2WD the pusher and sidecar wheel turn at the same rate. Ural advises that 2WD should only be used on mud, snow, sand or like that, never on roads.
Mine is the 1WD version. I’ve gone on forest roads and gravel, but never off-road in the “no road” sense. First gear is pretty low and has gotten me where I need to go (so far) and back, too.
I have had quite a lot of bikes over time. My favourites through many years was Honda SOHC CB550’s. They were both rat bikes
My present bike is an oldish BMW K75 RT tourer that I have brought back to working order and that I use for travelling parts of Europe/Scandinavia.
Me too, I just try to avoid ‘bat out of hell’
Yes you are so right! This bike needs respect!
When I lived in the UK, I once rode from Luton to Truro on a GSXR-1000 in a statute-fracturing 3h15m that was almost entirely due to the fact that I had a metal/hard dance playlist on my first gen iPod. There was a heap of Slayer, Sabbath and Prodigy on the playlist. I used surgical tape to hold my IEMs in and enable me to slip my helmet on over the top without ripping them out.
It was quite surreal how twisty the A30 became at pace. Normally a gentle bend that might not get noticed under normal circumstances suddenly became an actual bend.
Not sure how I’m still alive.
I’m still tempted to pull a wheelie and give the bird when anarchy in the uk comes on, then I remember that I’m over 50……
Yeah… I got up off the sofa the other day. There was a terrible sound and I thought that something had broken in the frame of the couch. It turns out that it was me involuntarily making the awful noise as I unfolded myself to stand up.
You guys are great!!
RUSH is incredibly good at making the throttle open especially coming out of a roundabout on a lean and flying up the outside lane.
I too am the wrong side of 50 so a long run brings on some interesting aches. As I live in Belgium I ride to the Dutch coast or I find an autobahn to shake the cobwebs.
Keep it safe and upright and keep those tunes playing
My Laverda RGS back in early 1980’s.
Along with Lewis Leather’s jacket in Barry Sheen colours which I still have… It does not fit by miles now.
Im sorry, really I am but…I just could not stop myself this morning!
This popped up on our local Craigslist and it was just SO clean and SO cheap I just could not help myself.
Before I knew it I was at his house and cash was changing hands…
Doctor, please help!
There is no Doctor that can help you Kevin without taking access to your Bank account off you.
But it is a lovely bike
I’m not going to judge - one of the best all rounders ever. Good on ya.
Reminds me of a pair or top notch songs.
