Can’t wait Allan… a couple of more weeks and they should arrive.

This is a great thread, and I thought I would contribute. I was a Sonos user for years and loved the product, but became disillusioned by technical issues, inability to handle large playlists, and a stagnant feature set. Changing to Roon re-energized my interest in music and led to some other system improvements as well. Here’s what I currently have in my main system:

• Music lives on a Drobo 5N2 NAS and Tidal, mainly the NAS
Roon Nucleus
Sonore ultraRendu endpoint
Topping D70 DAC
NAD T757 receiver
MartinLogan Motion 60XTi speakers
Rotel RB-980BX amp that I’ve had forever powering the 60XTi’s. For music, I basically use the NAD as a pre-amp (in source direct mode) playing through the Rotel
Era Design 10 subwoofer
• For movies, MartinLogan 50XTi center speaker and Paradigm surrounds
Oppo BDP-83 Blu-Ray player
Woo Audio WA3 headphone amp and Sennheiser HD650 headphones
Belkin PureAV Home Theater Power Console

Great acoustic treatments. I am moving to a new home next month and will have the dedicated space to be able to get some treatment done.
Great job!

Dutch & Dutch 8cs?! Just learned about this speaker company within the last 2 months. What do you think of them?

I really like them. I’ve had them since August 2019. The REW integration is very good. It is easy to take measurements and apply PEQ filters. Here is the write-up on how to do it.

Does it not rain much where you live?

beautiful, as is the NuVista amp.

Good question! We are in NSW Australia and have just come out of the worst drought recorded followed by the insidious Black Summer bush fires which came very close to annihilating our tiny village. Indeed the effects of climate change could not have been more pronounced.

We have been getting some sorely needed relief however and have actually been getting above average rainfall for most of 2020.

This setup was us blowing off a bit of steam outside in the bush in front of a bonfire during the winter months just after lockdown. The gear went back inside the shed later that morning!

What platforms do you have the 5200s on?

Hi, they are old Mana Acoustic speaker stands. They also make it easy to alter the Toe in angle if I choose.

I have loads of Mana
What worked then, works now

I’ve actually got some speaker bases that I keep meaning to use under my Quads - must get round to it…

Yep, they are solidly engineered, a friend had no use for them, so they were a steal.

Do you know the ‘ring’ test for setting them up?

Proper nerdy stuff, I’ll get my tin foil hat

Well, I hope you get back from drought status, I live in CA I know what that’s like. I love your creativity bringing your rig outside.

Reminds me of when I was a kid… pre-walkman existence. I duct taped my transistor radio to my dad’s headphones to cut the grass. Got a lot of grief for sticky stuff on his headphones… seemed like a good idea at the time!
