Sweet setup Mark, can I ask where you got your rack/stand from? Was it a custom build?

It is a custom build, but based on a Finite Elemente design.

Just upgraded my venerable QUAD 44 + 405 combo to a new QUAD Artera Link + Artera Stereo system, driving a pair of QUAD ESL 57s. The Artera Link is currently connected via USB to a Roon Ready Sonore microRendu.

The icing on the cake would be for QUAD to make the Artera Link a Roon Ready device in addition to the existing support for Airplay (yeuch!). I live in hope.

About a year ago I managed a 10% discount off the life subscription from a Hifi forum, unfortunately I can’t remember which one! Google for Roon Voucher will probably help if you’re still looking. :pray:t2:

Thanks Paul

@sgr, may I ask about the specs of your audio PC? Also, how do you find the Golden Gate?

low-brow but sounding good

Hi Sebastian,

Nice setup! I’m also interested in getting the Yamaha CD-S2100.

-Do you have any issues playing 24bit Flac files and DSD?
-Can the DAC play 5.6 and 11.2 DSD?
-How’s the experience with the DAC and Roon in general
any advice?

Thanks!

Hugo

Amp: Schiit Mjolnir 2

DAC: Holo Spring L3 Kitsune edition

Cans: Sennheiser HD800 (SDR modded)

microRendu as Roon endpoint

Do you have the Google Home hooked up so you can say “OK Google, play Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd from Second Helping via Roon to microRendu”?

Quite a mouthful but would be pretty darn cool.

:grinning:

Not really. Google Home just happens to be placed there for other things. Nothing to do with the system. I wish

It’s hard to see it, but the Insignia HD Radio in my system is really a gutted box with a disassembled laptop inside. On the back of the box is Cat5, USB and power connections. I do everything through VNC and run Roon Bridge on this. My server (core) sits in another room. Pretty fun project and gives me hours of enjoyment.

Believe it or not, it is a wine rack from the Container Store!
