Use shuffle a lot. have 152,000 tracks. there is an album/track that gets worked into shuffle far more than any other. It gets chosen a lot. Given the amount of tracks I have and the frequency this material comes up it cant be random. Any thoughts on this?
Shuffle only actially shuffkes 5000 tracks and is a bit poor in its actual shuffle. I out tracks in a playlist and Shuffle that as it seems to work better.
Computers also have a really hard time making truly random patterns.
There are entire papers on making an actually random generator.
Different unix’s even have packages you can upgrade to.
I had a cd player in the 90’s that would “randomly” play in the same order every time.
