Smoke on the Water - Live in Osaka

I first purchased this album (Live in Japan) in 1972.

My wife, who is many decades younger (hoping she goes on to high school next year), had never heard the song but saw a documentary on how it was recorded “and what went wrong when we did.”

I played it for her (Qobuz).

At 3’ 21", Mrs. Me hears an errant note. I heard that errant note also from the first time I heard the song.

If you want, you can see if it is as we hear it.

Unrelated is that the Japanese kids…who would easily be in their 60s now were so exuberant at the last note. There is a pause before the applause, and I am not certain that they (could) understand the lyrics but clearly they had a great time.

Son of unrelated, is that while the lead is played on a Strat, it really sounds like a Les Paul. In either case, it is a fun listen.
