Band of Brothers treasure hunt find . . . Got lucky!!

I have a feeling I picked this one up from this very thread, but a quick topic search doesn’t bring it up … anyway I love the “cold” 90s production and world beat stuff on this soundtrack. ![]()
Yes! I shared it! Love this album. Still trying to find similar style music…
Of my 16+ Zimmer albums - Millennium is one I don’t own. Actually, it’s one I don’t recall at all.
Nice!
Armando Trovajoli
Werewolf In The Girls Dormitory (1961)
14 short sequences, largely of the suspense variety. Not a great listen.

Armando Trovajoli
7 Volte 7 (1968)
Light jazz/soul jazz/lounge style soundtrack, with a couple of vocal ‘pop’ songs.

Seven Times Seven
Performed by The Casuals, best known for thier #2 UK hit Jesamine)
Just watched Lady Snowblood, which has this wonderful song in it - no idea about the Japanese lyrics - led me to playing the Kill Bill soundtrack
Have been a fan of Meiko for a long while. This album used to be not too difficult to find. It’s got both Shura No Hana (Flowers of Carnage) & Urami Bushi both on KB 1.
Meiko Kaji
Zenkyoku (2004)

Movie: Shurayuki-hime - 1973
Shura No Hana
Alessandro Alessandroni, Ennio Morricone
Il Giro Del Mondo Degli Innamorati Di Peyne (1974)
Essentially an Alessandroni album as Morricone was allegedly too busy to complete the score and asked his good buddy Alessandro. You’d likely classify this under ‘easy listening’. The final track on the album is a vocal version of Forse Basta featuring Demis Rousos.

Forse Basta (Morricone)
Dimitri Tiomkin
55 Days At Peking (1963)

I think over the years I’ve posted a few (yup I just searched), but not many Max Richter soundtracks. I tend to believe he often gets a bad wrap in certain circles or press due to his prolific nature and his success. And yes, just about everything he does gets compared to The Blue Notebooks (2004). With over a billion streams and albums sales in the millions he must be doing something well. However, I do get his music is somewhat systematic and to some, therefore it’s the same.
Max Richter
Valse Avec Bashir (2008)
Perhaps this soundtrack will highlight Max’s diversity; in parts sounding like something Fatboy Slim would have released, amongst the typical sombre modern classical work. There’s also 2 OMD tracks including Enola Gay & PIL (This is not a love song). I have no idea how they fit into this film!

Following the film’s premiere at Cannes in 2008, critics hailed the importance of Richter’s unforgettable score and also recognised its success as a standalone album, something rarely achieved by a movie soundtrack. The score went on to earn Max Richter the European Film Academy’s Best Composer Award in 2008 and contributed significantly to his stellar rise on the contemporary scene. (Ron Kelly 2020)
***Please note: this is not a political post and I have not even seen the film. It’s all about the music with me!
Boaz and the dogs
(The track I think has that big rockin beats Fatboy Slim style)
Today, I was in the mood for the return of the king, the whole one!
okay, 3:50h is a bit long for listening to it in one go, but it is great music.
No idea why it’s taken me so long to own this. I’ve had the odd track from it on other compilations but neve the whole. That was remedied and arrived and ripped today.
One of my favourite movies and soundtracks.

Definitely…I love the sound of the distorted/fuzzed out guitar, like man with harmonica!

Three Worlds: Music From Woolf Works (2017)
Although the work as a whole is not a film score, it has the flavor of one, and it opens up intriguing possibilities for the expansion of that language to other settings. Certainly recommended for anyone who has noticed and liked the music for Arrival. (allmusic)
Mrs Dalloway: In The Garden
Not played this in donkeys years.

Fun to hear it again like the first time!
