I’ve updated to the RoPieee 2024.10 (1840) update, with no place to enter the spotify username/password in settings. The Spotify Connect of my RoPiee speakers does not appear when I open the iPhone Spotify app while connected to the wifi network that the RoPieee is on. I understand that Spotify changed something such that it no longer uses username/password authentication. Is there some other way that I should be authenticating with Spotify so that the RoPieee shows up in my Spotify app?
Spotify on my iPhone does see my MacBook as a spotify connect device when the program is open on my computer.
EDIT: Immediately after posting the below, I changed the “Volume Control” setting to “Software,” and RoPieee showed up as a Spotify Connect device in my apps. Problem solved!
Thanks, yes I am logged into my Spotify account on my phone and my desktop, and they can see each other on my local network.
The RoPieee works perfectly as a Roon endpoint.
I have the Spotify connect settings under Services as, service name: DR; audio output USB; volume control: none; initial volume 100; volume normalisation: off; autoplay: off.
Previously, I assume that the RoPieee used the username/pwd in settings to log into my spotify account. Now that it doesn’t have that setting, should it automatically show up as a Spotify connect device in the Spotify app when it is on my local network and my phone/computer are logged in and also connected to my local network?
I can’t get Ropieee to show up at all in Spotify connect. I’ve tried rebooting multiple times and changing the settings on the Services tab, nothing seems to help.
