I recently took out my NUC and do some cleaning, dusting, etc. While at it, I remove the NVME and attached it to a USB-NVME adapter and run Crystal DiskInfo just to see how much usage ROON has given to it.
My SSD is Adata SX8200, 256GB, with 160 TBW (Tera Byte Written) rating.
According to Crystal Disk Info, my SSD Life is 92% after almost 3.5 years of usage.
I have run ROCK on this SSD since December 2019 and the NUC been mostly on unless when I was away for extended time periods. I have about 240k tracks, about 16-17.000 albums. I did a complete database start from scratch one time (for a total of two, with the first when I started using Roon). So, the data might deviate due to track analizes were done twice.
So this is one data point. People who have SSD with different TBW rating and different number of tracks may have different life on their SSD.
But, I would be curious to see if the failing SSD on Nucleus happen due to lower TBW rating of the 64GB drive used combined with large number of tracks managed.
Please feel free to add your info for curiousity sake.
Best Regards.
