St. Petersburg mistery

How come spelling “Dmitri Shostakovich” leads to “St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra” as composer in Roon, but spelling “Dmitry Shostakovich” gets OK?

This happens in a set of 13 CDs dedicated to Shostakovich. For example, see below the metadata dumped from 1st track file from CD 3:

fLaC
reference libFLAC 1.3.1 20141125
CDDB=900bfd09
TITLE=Quartet No.3, Op.73 - I. Allegretto

ALBUM=Shostakovich - Quartets 3-4
GENRE=Classical
ALBUMARTIST=Beethoven Quartet
COMPOSER=Dmitri Shostakovich
DISCNUMBER=3

TRACKNUMBER=1

See how it comes in Roon:

Now, the metadata from 1st track file of CD:
fLaC

reference libFLAC 1.3.1 20141125
CDDB=660aa908
TITLE=Quartet No.1, Op.49 - I. Moderato
ARTIST=Beethoven Quartet
ALBUM=Shostakovich - Quartets 1-2
GENRE=Classical
COMMENT=Recorded live at the Moscow Conservatoire small hall in 1960
ALBUMARTIST=Beethoven Quartet
COMPOSER=Dmitry Shostakovich
DISCNUMBER=2
DATE=2013
ORGANIZATION=Venezia
TRACKNUMBER=1

And how it comes in Roon :slightly_smiling_face:

Let me add a comment : In most appearances here and there, Shostakovich’s first name is spelled Dmitri. I saw it spelled Dmitry in Roon DB and it gave me the idea to change it for CD 2 so it would match the DB … and it worked …
On another hand, I have plenty of other records appropriately imported where first name is Dimitri or Dmitri.

St.Petersburg PO appears as composer only for these 13 CD coming from Venezia Records.

Any idea for a cause of this weird composer mismatch ?

Just in case it can help, here are the cover and back of the set:

Hi @Jean-Louis_Guichard,

Would you mind sending us this disc so we can do some testing on our end? You can send me a private message here on the site with a shared Dropbox link to the files and we can take a look.

Thanks!
