I use Star ratings quite a lot, it is a feature that helps me identify music I may have forgotten about. Roon applies an ‘x’+ rating under ‘Focus’, e.g. 3* offers up 3, 4 & 5 star albums. I often want to see music that is rated at 3* or even 2* because 10 years on (or even longer) hidden gems can be revealed. For example, if I want to find an album with 2*, my whole collection comes up and I’m back to scrolling through the my whole damn collection (I might have the occasional 1* album, but not many). Technically, it must be an easy fix, just use an operator that says ‘= to’, and as for implementation, Lightroom does it very nicely for photos. I know many won’t see the need, but I’m sure many would.
(I do have a fix: I have an old version of JRiver Media Center, but that requires me to go in and out of a separate piece of software, which is an extremely clumsy way of doing anything)
I find it useful to be able to rate my albums from zero stars to five stars in half star steps. However I cannot see a way of focusing on albums with a particular rating. That is, if I want to look at all the albums I rated as 2.5 stars then I have to look at all the albums with 2.5 stars or greater. I would like either to e able to focus on the individual star ratings or be able to sort my albums by star ratings
