Just wondering if we could have an option to enable a stereo waveform seekbar, like in Foobar. This way we can “see” what happens in each channel:
Yes, and I also wonder why I see a wave form when playing local files, but never when streaming from quobuz?
I’m not sure but I think it’s because Roon is not a memory player. Streamed tracks are played as the stream comes in so there’s no time to analyze and build a wave. Other players store each track in memory so they can analyze prior to playing. Benefit is quick loading each track. Downside is no wave or dynamic range.
Hm… but I don’t use any other player, just Roon. Is there a tecnical difference betwen a file on my NAS and one coming from the internet over the same local nerwork and streamer?
Yes, big difference. Roon already has run audio analysis on local files when they were imported.
