Still have access to Tidal via Roon having cancelled my Tidal sub

Just thought I’d mention this here.
A couple of week ago I cancelled my Tidal subscription. Interestingly, rather than all the Tidal tracks and albums I have in Roon becoming unavailable, they are still there. It’s just when they are played, they are now MP3 versions. I think this is rather odd though rather welcome,
Has anyone else experienced this?

Do they play longer than 30 seconds?

Yes. Full tracks and albums.

Nice I guess

Doesn’t sound too bad on my system which is Roon to Eversolo to DAC via USB to Advance Paris A10 to Kef R3 Meta.

I just thought it was surprising that once my subscription ran out, they’re still providing me with the service but at a lower quality. It’s not as if they have a free MP3 tier in their pricing.

I am surprised.

I’ve only temporarily cancelled anyway. Just trying to get all my subscriptions going out on the 1st of the month. This was just a surprising thing I’d thought I’d share here and see if anyone else had experienced it. It’s only works via Roon. If I try and use the Tidal app or website I just get advised I don’t have a current subscription…as one would expect.
