Swapping Roon Server and Roon Bridge between two different MacMinis

I’m currently running Roon across two different MacMinis as described below:

I run Roon Server on a late 2012 MacMini which runs Monterey via OpenCore Patcher.

I also run Roon Bridge on a much newer M4 running Sequoia

I’d like to switch them so that the M4 runs Roon Server and the 2012 Mac mini runs Roon Bridge

I’ve looked at the “Moving Roon to a new server” article but I’m not sure if it’s the right information for what I’m trying to do .

The guide says" “Since this is your first time launching your new Roon Server, you will be asked to log-in. Instead of logging in, click “Restore A Backup” in the lower-left hand corner. You will be prompted to log in after selecting “Restore a Backup”.”

But in my case, opening Roon on my M4 will not ask for a login because I’m already using Roon on that machine

Shutdown your current roon server (after making a backup).

Then when you run roon bridge on your other machine, it should fail to find a core, and then display an option to “install roon core on this machine”.

Once that’s done you should be able to follow the guide.

On the old server, you can just stop the roon core auto starting.
