The Crossroads at Moria

I asked this on Audiophile Style and no one answered.
Perhaps someone in this ILLUSTRIOUS group of ROON readers will.
Has anyone heard of this obscure lounge restaurant and motel on US Route 11 in Franklin County New York?
While at St Lawrence University 1965-1969 I saw Buddy Rich Count Basie and others perform there.
I could never understand why these greats of jazz/blues played there.
Because of “in local parentis” St Lawrence students could not stay in motels in St Lawrence County so fraternities and sororities would rent buses and spend weekends there ( women even had curfews when on campus back then!).
Crossroads had great food linen on the tables and motel rooms themed as countries ie Poland etc!
A lot of Canadians apparently came down to see the talent play there.
SO does anybody remember this place been there or remember why these great bands and performers played there?
