Local files. If I add the Qobuz version to my library, it doesn’t change anything.

Description of the issue

In my library, the album Songlines by The Derek Trucks Band is sorted under “Derek Trucks Band, The” (I have made no edits to the metadata).

The rest of my Derek Trucks Band albums are sorted by the default setting in Roon (Trucks, Derek, Band, The).

Hi @Curtis_Hasty and welcome to the community.
Have you actually checked the metadata properties of all of the (presumably) ripped files? It looks like there may be an issue there, so a good place to start to look for the problem.

Thanks for the response, PixelPopper. I’m not seeing anything in the metadata that looks incorrect.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I have always been under the impression that once an album is recognized by Roon, Album Artist sorting is based on the sort criteria for the Artist. In this case, it is:

Hi Curtis, I have found problems with metadata embedded in the files which “confuses” the import to Roon.
The easiest way to resolve this would be to Edit the text field with the correct name “The Derek Trucks Band” as indicated…
(If you’re familiar with editing metadata properties in Windows or Macos you do it that way but it’s long winded….)

Thanks, PixelPopper. I had tried changing it to Prefer file (and verified that there wasn’t an extra space after Band), but I didn’t think to enter it in the manual entry field.

It makes no sense, but that did resolve the issue.
