➡️ The Vinyl Bar (Yes, we’re open) [2024]

I upgraded my Cartridge to a AT VMN 740ML and got a while ago a bunch new LPs and here is one of them that I really like a lot. (artist is Lee Sung Ae)

Unlike some new vinyl releases that feature a cover with an artificially created “distressed” look, the cover of this album is actually distressed , which is what happens to albums that are almost 50 years old (this album was released in 1975).

SL-1500C? Nice player!

It’s that time of the year here, when it’s appropriate to put the “classic” in the spotlight for a while:

Have seen over the settings wih minor adjustments in VTF/AS and VTA and it sounds really good, even with it’s olden Lyra Dorian!

A lovely bit of kit!

A “stacked” image, from four source pictures with varying depth of focus. All automatic, have still to learn to optimize!

Any guesses as to what cart it is?

Soundsmith of some type.

No, this one is Japanese. I think/thought Mr Lederman mostly used other materials than boron in their cantilevers, such as saphire and cacti needles?

Anyways, this is a “reasonably” priced MC from Audio Technica, the AT OC9XML. Have yet to mount and listen!

Played it yesterday, but didn’t have a chance to post. Great music, great recording!

I turned 50 (Dec. 20) and found this 1969 copy in a local shop today and picked it up as a gift to myself. Mellow, folky and just what i needed.

New toy and very happy with how it looks in the setup. After buying Isoacoustics speaker feet for my floor Stander’s and book shelf stands I was happy to try one for the Pro-ject turntable knowing that it would look good and do it’s job.

Also an wonderful 45 RPM pressing of this Fiona Apple album, even though I had sworn off 45 RPM pressings as being too tiring to flip over every 10 minutes

Bought this when I saw them live in October and a first listen after the wife swiped it as a Christmas present.
Really enjoying it so far
