Describe the issue

Early Access 1550 has lost all my AirPlay zones in Roon Server. My Roon Remote on my Mac client (MacOS 15.8, MacBook Pro 2019 15") and iPhone (iOS 18.6, iPhone 14 Pro) do not see any AirPlay devices anymore in Roon's Audio Settings. I can see all my AirPlay devices on my Mac, iPhone, and iPad, but Roon does not see these anymore. I can play music from Roon using my MBPro's System Output settings to my AirPlay devices, but not from Roon natively.

Describe your network setup

Asus BQ16 Pro network running via WiFi, as my AirPlay devices are seen natively from all my Apple devices, I do not believe this is a network issue unless there is a Roon AirPlay discovery setting that needs to be updated

All of my AirPlay devices have gone missing from Roon after updating to 1550. I opened a Support ticker here:

Has anyone else experienced this? I have restarted Roon Server and rebooted my W11 Roon Server, but no change in behavior.

Same here, all airplay devices (few HomePods) are missing after update.

For me, all Roon tested Airplay devices are visible. But the older airplay devices (OG HomePod) are not. gen2 HomePods in stereo tied to current generation Apple TV visible, but 3 other HomePods are not (one stereo pair and one standalone). A JBL Roon ready device is also visible as an airplay device .

The standalone HomePod is in my workplace so really used whenever I am not on a call. back to the standard build, I guess.

edit: spoke too soon. they are all visible now and playable.

Just checked, oddly I’m seeing 1 AirPlay device, which is also my Sonos Beam.

In my logs I’m seeing my HomePod with Trace entries for it.

These are popping up a lot and randomly timed from what I see.

Hello @Robert_F,

Thank you for reaching out to Roon Support.

We appreciate your report. I’m moving this topic to the Early Access section, where our QA team will take a closer look and provide you with further updates.

I also had similar issues. I rebooted my Roon ROCK. When that didn’t help I powered it down. Still no luck. Took a break from it for a while and everything magically reappeared. Back to status quo, but it was certainly problematic for a while.

Hi, @Robert_F, @Kdp, @optimaxi, could you please reboot your RoonServer twice and let me know if the issue is fixed?

We’ve enabled an additional functionality which can help us to troubleshoot and understand more about the problem you are having. But in order for it to work, 2 reboots of RoonServer are needed.

Thanks!

Ivan

Hi @ivan

I know you didn’t mention me, but I have rebooted and now not even my Sonos Beam shows as an Airplay device.

I’ll reboot two more times to see.

Update: Two more full server reboots and still no AirPlay devices.

Sorry, @Mr.Flibble, I did not enable it for you :frowning: Now it’s enabled, could you please retry?

Thanks!

Ivan

Tried rebooting RoonServer few times, still no luck with any of my airplay devices.

Sorry, @optimaxi, could you please try once more?

Thanks!

Ivan

Thanks @Ivan, just got my AirPlay devices back :+1:

Same issue here. Rebooted 2 times, no airplay devices. Rebooted 2 more times also no luck. Any other suggestion @ivan?

Ivan will have to enable it for your account (before the reboots) like he did for the others in this thread

Ah I see. Thank you.

I have the exact same issue but with chromecast devices. Hopefully it can be done for my account as well?
