[Ticket in] B1566 Android freeze on album details

This is intermittent but happening regularly on my Samsung s24 ultra (Android 16 UI 8)
From the now playing screen

Click on the album line, the squid wait icon appears but then freezes

Leave it long enough and the screen goes blank

Occasionally Android reports that Roon
has frozen and would you like to wait or kill.
I have to kill the client and restart once it does this as it never recovers by itself.
Once it’s in this loop it freezes no matter the album for a while then clears itself of this wrinkle.
The other clients continue to work.

TBH on latest builds it seems to have gone away.

Sorry, spoke too soon. After restarting and navigating around the app, I played a track and was able to access album details.

Hi, @ged_hickman1, @Patrick_McGuire, we are working on reproducing it now, but so far we have not had any success yet. Am I getting it right that it’s not reliably reproducible with the same album but rather always affect different ones?

Random yes. I haven’t been using roon much of late as as in a separate issue all my zones keep disappearing so I don’t know if it’s still happening.

@ged_hickman1, @Patrick_McGuire, it spoke to our dev team, they told me that the current EA build contains a potential fix for this issue. Could you please double-check if this issue is still present for you on the latest EA build?
