I’ve been having an issue on Android for the last couple of builds. Intermittently when leaving my car or turning off my Pixel buds playback won’t stop and will blast out of my phone speaker. Sometimes this doesn’t start until a few minutes later when I go to unlock my phone, sometimes it happens right away. Regardless it is very annoying and has been happening for the last couple of builds.
it only happened to me once a couple of builds ago
It’s already happened to me a couple of times today. It’s really annoying when I’m in my quiet office and take out my Pixel Buds and then music starts blasting and I have to apologize to my coworkers.
Hi, @Daniele_Piancastelli, @mackid1993, thank you for your reports. We are investigating this issue at the moment.
Thanks!

This is still happening in B305.
I use an Android phone via BT headphones but using USB Player Pro, when I turn off the headphones playback continues on the phone until I stop it
I always assume it’s Android thing
Hi, @mackid1993, may I ask you to check how other apps behave in this case if that’s possible for you?
Thanks!

I really don’t use any other apps for music because I invested so much money in Roon. This behavior started fairly recently though.
Got it, @mackid1993, thanks! I asked because we cannot reliably reproduce this behaviour locally after the fix was implemented. Am I getting it right that the steps are the following:
- Connect an output device via Bluetooth
- Start a playback session in Roon ARC
- Disconnect the Bluetooth device while the playback session is active
After step #3 music will continue playing. Is that correct? If so, how often (approximately) you end up in this state?
Thanks!

So it usually starts playing a few minutes later when I unlock my phone again not usually right away. It’s only happened once or twice since the update, not every time. Although I’ve been home sick so I haven’t been out a lot.
This just happened to me, I got out of the car, music stopped. Walked into the house, unlocked my phone, music started playing.
Just happened again same issue. Getting out of the car and once I unlocked my phone.
It also happened to me 2 times both after disconnecting the smartphone from Android Auto (connected via Bluetooth via a dongle AA wireless). When I opened the phone, the music started again by itself.

Yup same thing except a Motorola MA1 here.
My timestamps are roughly when I commented here.
Edit happened again 10/21/2024 6:55 pm or so EST
I don’t think this has anything to do with Roon. I’ve even had this happen with my YouTube and other apps.
It seems specific to Android Auto.
Well all I can say I’ve had this with iOS & Bluetooth/CaprPlay over the years as well.
I have never seen this on Android before.
This happens a ton and seems to correlate to Android Auto and possibly wireless android auto.
Hi, @mackid1993, thank you for your feedback. We are trying to find reproduction steps for this issue but have not had any success recently. I will post an update here in case we make any progress on this one ![]()
Sorry for troubles
