Tidal Issue? Some albums found in the Tidal app but they not displayed in the Roon app

Since the latest Roon Update there seems to be a problem with the Tidal integration. Recently there are quite some albums that you find in the Tidal app (iOS/iiPadOS) but they aren‘t displayed in the Roon app (Roon core @ macos).

Two examples:

Does anyone have similar issues?

It is nothing new that there are sometimes delays with new albums from Tidal appearing in Roon. My experience is that it is usually sorted out in ~24 hours. This seems to take longer.

Suggestions of adding the album to my Library in Tidal and hoping for it to show in Roon do not work in this case, unfortunately.

Joy Oladokun’s album made its way into Roon, but still no news about the Cunningham Bird album.

It‘s strange because I didn‘t have such problems in the past

The Cunningham Bird album is still not available in Roon and I have a theory : in Tidal, the release date is marked as december 13th 2024 (which isnt right, as the album is already available) :

Could it be that Roon rely on that date to make it available? Maybe it’s a question for the support staff (@benjamin ?)

Interesting. On Qobuz it is dated October 18

However, in ARC I have it available both from Qobuz and from Tidal and I can play them both. Can’t try right now with Roon at home because I’m not there

@Suedkiez, your ARC screenshot is from a single (which came out before the album) and is available in Roon. The full album doesn’t seem to be available in ARC either.

Oh, you are right, I clicked the wrong thing. The Qobuz album is there but the Tidal is not

Could be an explanation.

It‘s a pity that Tidal isn‘t really reliable when it‘s linked to Roon.

Not just Tidal, Qobuz is the same. It’s the model Roon has chosen for it integration that causes this. It’s just not flexible enough to cope with the how stuff gets released at the last minute to the services and also has some element of human or import error. I had many albums in the past just missing that where released ages ago that Roon cannot see but are in Qobuz.

I didn‘t notice that with Qobuz. The things that I listen to are always available immediately with Roon and Qobuz each friday.

Believe me it happens equally across both. Some weeks its all Qobuz others all Tidal. Roon gets a copy of the services datatbase several times a week and they import this and host their own version of Tidal and Qobuz. What you see in Roon isnt from TIdal or Qobuz servers its Roons. Its this import that causes the delays as sometiems they dont get a copy of the DB until a few days later ot it was missed completley. It will never change until they have a more foolproof mechanism and can get copies quicker and on demand which doesnt happen.
