Why do I only get Justin Bieber and some of that junk as sugged new albums on Tidal?
I only listen to classical and jazz.
In the Tidal app, I get the normal recommendations, but not in the Roon app.

haha. not sure why you are getting Justin Bieber. maybe your daughter is listening to him under your account. I got great music for new albums tonight. music I like. No Justin Bieber.
Weirdly I have the same thing right now. I too get Justin Bieber(?), Charlie XCX, Omarion and Wycleaf Jean.
I listen to classic rock, classic, blues, jazz, funk and sometimes a bit of Indie or country.
I see none of that in the suggested and good luck fitting these suggested in these genres.
Maybe my type is “exploratory”, so Tidal thinks I’ ready to explore modern pop/hip-hop?
Anyway, I can’t remember this to be the case before. Some bug? Or the algo doing funny things?
Most likely would seem to be someone else in your household listening to other music genres
As I have a Tidal family subscription, this is not the case.
I wish there was a way that only the primary account holder got recommendations for primary profile based on just their individual tastes
This is just some Tidal/Roon weirdness. There’s no secret daughter listener. I have the same thing. No daughter and no one else in the house listens to Roon/Tidal at all.
Tidal today said they are cracking down on AI Music and should be much improved by July 15th. Sure hope so. One of my favorite artists, Seth Walker, Popped up in discovery playlist and it was some AI bulls–t. Hope they figure this out. I don’t see any easy way to report AI so if any of you using Tidal know how to do so please let me know. AI Music…aaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh
@PRE I understood Tidal’s announcement to mean they will stream AI music but won’t pay those who uploaded it to Tidal. They seem to be experimenting with how to handle AI generated music: hard stop vs no compensation.
I see that too with Tidal. Recommended titles and albums are totally different when using the Tidal app vs. Roon. The recommendations seen via Ronn are totally crap.
Same issue here, I’m a long time user to Tidal and haven’t seen that those album recommendations do make any sense based on what I’m currently listening to. But it might be that this is a limitation in how the API works. Would be nice if some Roon official could explain it to us.
Yes, I got the same notification as well as the upcoming $1 per month price increase. I get a lot of my music on Tidal and it still is a comparative bargain compared to the HIFI subscription I had previously.
Sole user here and I generally get really good recommendations for music new to me.
Funny this should come up. I had issues with Roon talking to my system for a few weeks, so I just listened to Tidal directly. Tidal alone was far better at suggesting tracks I preferred, as opposed to Roon with Tidal.
I cleared up my networking issues, so I am back to my playlists, with Roon supplying their suggestions when my playlists end - horrible choices!
