This is an issue with the D90MQA and linux compatibility, suggest you contact Topping to encourage them to fix it. I reported it, but they have not provided a resolution.

This probably doesn’t help solve your issue, but at least it is another datapoint: I am unable to replicate the issue on a D90SE, so it seems the newer revisions of the DAC might not have the issue.
