Hi @Gabrielle_Kane,
Thanks for reaching out about this issue! The articles that @bearFNF linked should help guide you through resolving the port forwarding issue. If you have any questions after reviewing them, we’re happy to assist.
I also wanted to mention another option that many users find easier—using Tailscale. With Tailscale, you won’t need to set up port forwarding at all. You can check out this article for step-by-step instructions on how to set it up.
Let us know how it goes or if you need any help along the way!
Apologies , i am still struggling. i have spoken to my ISP and they seem to think it is something to do with CGNAT system they use . Do you feel this is correct?
I would guess that this is the issue. I believe this is one of the reasons Roon worked on getting TailScale support implemented.
Here is the setup instructions for Nucleus:
There are several other setup instructions in the sidebar of the above link if you need them.
Hi @Gabrielle_Kane,
Yes, CGNAT can definitely interfere with ARC’s ability to connect to your server. As @bearFNF suggested, Tailscale is an easy way to bypass this issue.
If you’d rather stick with port forwarding, you can check with your ISP about getting a static IP address, which would also resolve the problem.
