Noris, your suggestion was the best so far and thank you. However, I still have an issue. I’ve successfully backed up Roon as you suggested from my Synology NAS. I was able to backup to an external drive, which is a step in the right direction (I hope). Now how do I safely copy the Roon Backup to my Asustor NAS? I want to retire the Synology and use the Asustor exclusively. I’m sooooo close to ending this nightmare now. So if you can guide me down the home stretch it would be greatly appreciated. PS: I would like to avoid the nightmare that started this whole thing and do it right this time and also have it be successful.
Hi @Ronald_Swirson ,
Glad to hear that you were able to make a new backup, this is a step in the right direction. The next step is to save the backup to a USB drive or to a folder on the Asustor. Then, once the backup is on the Asustor please ensure that RoonServer is running properly and then restore the backup.
I believe this issue may be due to the missing port numbers (:8000
) in your address header. Does the webpage load if you try 192.168.50.134:8000/RoonServer/
? Getting RoonServer running on the Asustor is a critical step.
thanks again for the response. The Roon Server is on an external drive now, I just have to move it from the HD to the Asustor. There seems to be a very particular way it has to be moved. The last time I simply moved the Server from Synology to the Asustor. I figured a copy is a copy, bits are bits, but I was told by customer service I had to use Hyperbackup to move the server and it just went downhill from there. So what advice do you have for me to safely move the server so I don’t run into the same issues. Any help is appreciated
