Check the port forwarding in Roon and on the router. Try to make a fixed forwarding rule on the router and use that in Roon. Helped me out…

What is the error message that you see when going to Roon Setting > Roon ARC. There is a box with probably a lengthy error message top right. Click the copy button and paste it here

Hi @stiffwrist1688,

Thank you for reaching out for assistance with port forwarding. I’ve split your post into a separate thread so the team and other users can assist you more directly.

Typically, errors like the one you see can be caused by a misconfigured Port Forwarding setting, if you are not seeing Ready listed in Roon Settings -> Roon ARC, please look over this guide before proceeding.

If you have reviewed this guide and still have not resolved the issue, can you provide the following details about your network setup to help expedite troubleshooting?

  1. Who is your internet service provider? Generally, we can resolve the issue knowing this alone, as we’ve accumulated experience with most major ISPs’ particular implementations.
  2. Please list the make and model of your modem and router
  3. Do you have any additional network hardware, like additional routers or managed switches?
  4. Does your network have any VPNs, proxy servers, or enterprise-grade security?
  5. What machine are you using as a Roon Core, and how is it connected to the internet?
  6. As mentioned above, are there any specific error codes displayed in the Roon Settings → Roon ARC tab? If so, can you post the error here?

Thanks!

Can i make Roon Arc ready on my Nuccleus + while away? It was working and then i got a “Cannot reach Roon Core” message. I usually can get it to work again by rebooting Roon then pressing the enable button for Arc. But I am away for 3 weeks. Is there a way to make roon Arc ready remotely?

No, not if you don’t have a way to remotely log into your home LAN

I bought a used Mac Mini for this purpose and a second Roon subscription to go with it. I use Splashtop to interact with the Mac Mini.

Thanks. Just won’t depend on Arc I suppose.
