Unable to play songs on Synology 920+ 7.1 in Roon (with ffmpeg installed)

I’ve been running into issues playing content inside Roon with my core installed on my Synology NAS 920+. When I click play on a track, it refuses to play. When I attempt to play an album on Tidal from track one, it just flies through track by track without playing anything, as if it’s just parsing the queue.

I extracted the isolated ffmpeg file from the john van sickle ffmpeg page (AMD64) into the /bin/ folder of RoonOnNAS and the whole directly has Owner/Group permissions set to RoonServer.

Client: 1254 early access
Core: 1257 early access

(I’m on early access now as I tried with the stable builds too - still no dice)
Installed both copies while logged into Admin account

From what I can gather in the RoonServer_log, the culprit when I attempt to play a song through Tidal states:

04/15 01:16:47 Trace: [System Output] [raatclient] GOT [7] {"status":"UnexpectedError","message":"RAAT__OUTPUT_PLUGIN_STATUS_FORMAT_NOT_SUPPORTED"}
04/15 01:16:47 Warn: [Computer (Default)] [zoneplayer/raat] failed to setup any endpoints..giving up

Is there anything I should be checking with regards to permissions? I feel like the ffmpeg is in the right place, unless my 920+ J4125 is not an amd64 processor? Happy to forward on any log files.

Little update on things:

The issue seems to only happen when I try to play the TIDAL audio locally from my PC.

If I attempt to play the same track through Roon Arc on my phone or with my Sonos speaker selected as audio output in Roon, it plays fine.

EDIT: Regarding Arc, the Sonos songs even play when I am not on the network.

Same happens with a locally stored FLAC on my NAS.

:rage:

So, I managed to resolve it. Turns out it was my Logitech headset just not playing ball with Roon. I accidentally set my speakers to default and was surprised to hear audio come out of them while testing.

Guess I’ll stop using these now and look for an alternative.

Think it has something to do with this? Roon skips all songs and won't play [Solved - Driver issue, solved by enabling advanced setting on device that misreport capabilities] - #27 by Roman_Pacheco1
