Will the update allow an Apple CarPlay connection to a BMW i5M60? If so, is there any expected release date?

The latest update for Roon 1.8 was in November 2022, I think, and there will probably not be further updates. In any case, CarPlay requires Roon ARC, which is only a feature in Roon 2.0.
Hello Everyone,
An issue was discovered recently which could cause some requests for internet services to fail. These errors manifested across a number of services and were often seen when fetching content from Qobuz or downloading album artwork. Today’s release corrects this issue and resolves a few minor bugs for Roon 1.8 Legacy.

As @Suedkiez has mentioned 1.8 is eol and will only receive bug fixes no new features. If you want that you need to move to 2.0
