Description of Issue

Hello,

I have received a Facebook message from one of your users that 24-7 Niche Radio URLs are no longer working due to us having to move to a new server as the old server came end of its days.
Please can you update your database with the following URLs:-

Hello @Mark_Pateman , thank you for those, although I had already updated the links a couple of weeks ago.

You’ve missed out 24-7 Hot Country and - 24-7 Smooth Jazz. Are these no longer available?

Hello Brian,

I am sorry to say 24-7 Hot Country & 24-7 Smooth Jazz are on hold at the moment they belong to a friend of mine who has had a fall and is unable to transfer them to the new server.

I am sorry I have duplicated but I had a Facebook message from a listener saying they were not working I will write back to him and let him know they have been updated and you confirm that they are up and working.

Hi Brian, I’m experiencing something weird. I’ve just been and checked through the list of Live Radio stations displayed by my Room system. I’ve set my Local Radio radius to 500 miles (it was 250) and filtered at the Local level on 24-7. I’m only seeing 1 of the 21 possible 24-7 stations; 24-7 Psychadelic Rock.
If I use the filter adjacent to the Live Radio banner, I see under Recently played; 24-7 Psychadelic Rock,24-7 Party, 24-7 Decades, 24-7 Just Rock and 24=7 Legends Classic Rock. Clicking on this latter station, Roon says it no longer exists. I still only see 24-7 Psychadelic Rock under Local stations - see attached screen shot.

Do I have to update the Live Radio station list? I looked through Setup and Menu options and can’t see a way to do that.
My system is running Roon 2.0 (build 1365)

There will be more than 100 radio stations within 500 miles of you. However, Roon only downloads 100 of these.

Filtering for 24-7 does not cause Roon to extend this list and so if many 24-7 stations were not there to start with, they won’t show.

Best thing is to search for “24-7” with the magnifying glass - you should then get all of them.

(I have raised this issue with the Roon Devs before)

I think the reason Classic Rock from your recently played list no longer exists is because when I updated the station info for that I actually caused a new station to exist (with the same name) and the old one to be deleted (mea culpa). Your recent played list is probably referencing the old link.

Thanks for the explanation. But it does not explain most of the grief I’m seeing. I’ve raised a separate Support item Live Radio station display is inconsistent, wrong and really frustrating

I’m sorry, I thought it did explain it. Roon may not be doing a very good job (and your separate support item may elicit an official Roon response), but it is clear what is happening.

Roon only downloads a subset (100) of all the possibilities of your local stations. Once this subset is loaded, no filtering will cause any remaining stations to be downloaded.

As I said above, use the magnifying glass (top right) - this will work.

Yes you did explain, thank you. I’ve updated Live Radio station display is inconsistent, wrong and really frustrating to try and better explain what I think is wrong :slightly_smiling_face:
