It finds other wireless networks but no longer detects the one created by my iPhone.
Did I miss something?
Is that WPA3 only? In that it won’t see your phone.
I have an iPhone 15 running iOS 17.7. To my understanding, WPA3 support has been available since iOS 13.
I haven’t updated my iPhone’s iOS 17.7 version recently. The hotspot worked before I updated to SW 2024.9.01.
I don’t remember which older version I had, but it was probably from last year?
My understanding is…
For your iPhone’s personal hotspot, the security protocol (WPA2 or WPA3) is automatically managed by the device, and there’s no direct option to manually choose between them. Typically, the iPhone will use WPA2 for the hotspot unless the connected device supports WPA3, in which case it may upgrade to WPA3.
Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t provide a way to check or change the hotspot security type in the settings. If you’re having connection issues with certain devices, the iPhone will default to WPA2 for broader compatibility.
The device was without power for several hours, and when I attempted to scan for networks from RoPieee again, I still couldn’t detect the iPhone’s Wi-Fi hotspot. However, the connection was eventually established, and I have a screenshot to confirm it.
With this newer version, however, when I try to establish an AirPlay connection, it fails.
When RoPieee is connected to the network via Ethernet, everything works correctly.
