This is my first post. To take the plunge, I have purchased a second-hand Sonictransporter I5 (no disk). This has ROON core pre-installed, and will go to my Melco N1a with music stored on 2 x WD Red 3Tb. This goes to the DAC in my HEGEL amp. I will use my iPad as controller. Does this sound OK?
I would put the discs on the ST and use that to push to the Melco, the way you intend is putting twice the bandwidth through the Melco as your coming out to the ST and back out of the ST back to the Melco to play to your DAC. Seems more of path than is needed.
Is the Melco Roon compatible as an endpoint?
