I’m not inclined to close the thread, there may be other users who want to express an opinion. There’s not a lot to be gained from running a vote. Roon is not a democracy and the numbers in this thread can be counted without a vote.
I haven’t had any discussion with the devs regarding this thread but, like all active feature request threads, would be confident that they are aware of it. Ultimately they will decide whether user demand warrants incurring the overheads well described by MattF above. At the moment it seems to me to be unlikely.
As to this thread, it will be what we all make it. People who have already expressed a view are free to post again but while repetition shows continuing interest, it doesn’t mean broader interest.

Oh well, I suppose I’d better throw my hat in the ring. I’m perfectly happy with horizontal scrolling. I’ve probably become conditioned to it from several years of using Windows Media Center. The option to switch to vertical scrolling might be nice, and seized upon by some, but I’ll quite happily stick with what I am comfortable with.
I note that over in the Plex user forums there’s a similar argument raging over the design choice for horizontal scrolling in their new Plex Media Player (since the previous client used vertical scrolling), whilst in the Emby user forums, no-one has raised any concern that the new Emby Home Theater client continues with the Emby tradition of horizontal scrolling…

Exactly! Inconsistency is the problem! See my post from 9 Jan. Personal preferences are always going to divide.
I vote for a vertical option, but it’s no deal breaker for me.

Vertical please!
I read this forum vertically, I use iTunes vertically and I browse about vertically.
In fact there’s not a single other aspect of my tablet that scrolls horizontally, it feels plain odd, and every time I’m in album view my natural response is to scroll vertically.
Moreover, when holding a full size iPad with two hands, vertical scrolling takes just a Flick of the thumb. Horizontal scrolling means taking a hand off to swipe left to right.
Not a deal breaker for me, just not what I’d ideally live with.

1.2 is great but I still find the horizontal scrolling crazy and the opposite to the GUIs of any other app I use on either Mac OSX or IOS. That said I can see that there are plenty of people in the pro-horizontal camp. So please, let’s just have a selectable horizontal/vertical option in settings then everyone can be happy…

I’ve gotten use to the horizontal scrolling browsing, actually like it better.
Ditto, it initially irritated me, now it’s a natural part of how I interact with the UI.
Still pisses me off as totally unintuitive, Now using Audirvana Plus 2.5 a lot which streams Tidal AND Qobuz and of course scrolls vertically (-: Not as nice UI as Roon though.
Intuitive for me is reading books since I was a kid and flipping pages right to left.

If the option was there, I would probably keep it at horizontal now.

It’s inconsistent now as on the iphone scrolling is vertical… 
People should have the choice
