Volume control in Roon

Please explain to me how Ropeee and Roon deal with the various volume control settings. When I select “fixed” it defaults to 45 in “device volume” I’m not sure whats going on? I want my preamp to control volume. Thank you

When I select fixed on the next start It reverts to “device” at 45% volume

But that’s a Roon setting right? You can’t change that in RoPieee.

I can’t help with the Roon setting that get’s lost, but can you explain how your setup looks like?

My setup is an Allo Kayana, passive transformer based pre, mono power amps. I’m running Ropee 235. I will re install the software and try again. Thank you.
