There is a pretty active thread for Sweet Soul, what about a thread for the female singer you are listening to?
I’ll start it off! Nina Simone Pastel Blues

Regardless of genre? Or Soul only?
Any genre, just featured female artists… I think.
I never expected my Sweet Soul thread to reach nearly 3k views. I’m sure 2900 views must be by myself
I only expected maybe 1 or 2 people to be vaguely interested.
Anyway this cool thread of yours will be much more popular
Currently listening to this track by this talented young lady.
Just a voice and a piano
I have picked up some good music from that thread… I love getting turned on to music!
That’s what it’s all about !
I’ll add this then, Elles Bailey. One of the hottest new artists on the UK Blues/Soul Scene.
You really need to catch her and her amazing band live.

We hosted her once and we have booked her again whilst we still can.
Whilst I’m about it, Lauren Housley is another special lady who you really must see live with her great band. It’s so hard to describe the quality of her talent. She lives every song she sings and writes some amazing material.

We have booked her a few times and take any chance we can to go see her play.
Heard Cara perform this live just before Christmas - even better than the recorded version.
I had this song only on a cassettetape, recorded from a radioshow in the Netherlands called Heartlands.
Found her back on Tidal.
Cara’s great live, as is her band. Her husband Sam Lakeman (brother of Seth), being more front of stage, is particularly notable as superb musician!
Agree - saw the band doing the ‘Upon a Winters Tale’ tour - last gig of the tour in Frome (Somerset, UK) - which is where we live and, just up the road, is the village where Cara, Sam and family live. The three children joined them for a couple of songs and the encore - so keep a watch out for them as future musicians. We’ll be seeing Cara and Sam (as a duo) again in February.
I’ll put this here, the wonderful Barbara Nesbitt.
