I’m struggling with these same issues. Mojo2/Poly is my DAP combo - source is mostly SD card. I’m. using 8Player (paid version) just now but it’s proper clunky on the iPhone. All tracks in alphabetical order, playlists are a right faff and there’s a heap of functionality around video etc. that I will never use. MConnect is just as lumpy. I had high hopes for Glider but I can’t find a way of accessing it in the UK. When I try to download it from the app store, I get a message saying it’s not available in my market. Can any UK users help me with that?
Glider is okay, but feature limited, and hasn’t been updated in years. One to avoid now. In my opinion, the best experience on iOS is Rigelian.
Nowadays, I only use the Poly Mojo at home with Roon as my Head-Fi setup (it’s so frustrating that the Mojo has to have a full charge before the Poly.) When away from home, I use ARC either on or offline with a TANCHJIM Space. Far less hassle, lightweight, and an excellent DAC.
I’m not about to buy a new DAC, but I’m playing happily with Rigelian on your recommendation and ten minutes in… it’s much more intuitive than the others I mentioned. I’ll see what it’s like to live with but the omens are good. Thank you.
I’d still be using Rigelion, but I dumped Apple a couple years ago, and the iPhone X 12 months ago.
For Android users, M.A.L.P. is the closest alternative (I pinched the SD-card for my Steam Deck, so no offline music on my Poly now. )
I use JPlay and Rigelian. I also create playlists for each album and one for ”everything”. These I use with GoFigure when all else fails.
I love the Poly, it’s great with LMS as an endpoint too but I wish it was easier to use with the sdcard.
