What external NVME SSD for local files?

My local library keeps increasing in size. I’m currently using a old school SATA SSD connected to my MacBook Air through a hub.

But I’m looking for a fast and reliable M2 SSD to take advantage of the small size.

I figured 2 TB would be plenty for me. I’m currently around 250 GB.

What I need is a external case with USB-C and a nvme SSD.

I was considering “Icy Box” because I know that brand and a Seagate Firecuda that works in the PS5 as well.
(So the SSD could be used in there, In case I need more storage In the future.)

A external drive simply because I don’t want a NAS and I want to use the drive with my MacBook and in the future with a Mac mini.

Marc,

I moved your post to Tinkering as it may get a more focused set of responses there rather than Support. I use a standard Samsung T7 1TB drive as a backup and sometimes as a direct-connect library drive and it works fine.

Thanks. I got already a traditional SATA SSD . But I want to replace that one as main drive and use the old one as Backup.

OWC Or Macsales.com might have something…I use an envoy express…thunderbolt carrier … no point going nvme unless you go thunderbolt

That’s exactly information I needed.
