Well, my oh my this was special… The 5th appearance of Hannah Aldridge for us, this time with a full band… Florence Sommerville opened the show, an up and coming artist on the Americana scene, but nothing could prepare you for the Hannah Aldridge experience…

Bob Dylan tonight, Uber Eats Music Hall* in Berlin, the Rough and Rowdy Ways tour.

The setlist was:

We know he’s old but I kind of didn’t expect him to be so frail at the beginning, but after warming up with a barely recognizable (I did though  ) All Along the Watchtower, he soon got in the mood and it was quite magical - my first time for real. No photos because there was a phone ban.

* Stupidest name ever for a venue. What is Uber going to eat next?

Steve Hackett; then Fairground Attraction. Consecutive nights, here in Cambridge. Marvellous, both.

Yesterday I saw Yeast Machine (Germany) and Great Rift (Austria) at Club1019.
Both bands are signed to Tonzonen Records and are playing Stoner/Heavy Psych music.

Yeast Machine was kicking things off and surprised with a very dancable high energy set. Great band with a very powerful stage presence.

After a short break Great Rift played their set packed with some really hard-rocking songs and tons of heavy riffs.

Yesterday five local death metal acts got together for the “Death over Erdberg” event @ Arena Vienna. Very nice event in the best underground venue of the city and a great opportunity to get to know some local bands (Catastrofear, Child Cemetary, Raging Void, Zerleger, Vermocracy) I’ve never heard of before.

This is not from last night’s show, but from 6 days ago and it is equivalent - you must check out Steve being Steve, then Steve being Robert Fripp, in this epic guitar solo:

Paul Weller at the Centaur in Cheltenham. Nice local gig for me, and a great venue to see a real legend at the top of his game.

Massive bucket list item for me: Royal Albert Hall on 11th October. It exceeded my High Hopes.

Gregory Porter, Vicar Street, Dublin, Ireland.

A rehearsal/warm up ahead of Cork Jazz Festival & his appearance in the Cork Opera House, later this week.

But I will take him in the smaller, more intimate venue any and every time.

Just wonderful
