Tonight in Orange Park.
Night Ranger.
Not quite what I was expecting, in a good way.
I thought it would be a slick polished presentation of their hits.
But no…this was a bunch of guys just having fun and mixing it up with songs from pre Night Ranger ( Stereo) and Damn Yankees.
Of course the hits were there as well and the night ended with Sister Christian because…well how do you top that monster!
All in all thoroughly enjoyable evening with three original members present, Jack, Brad and Kelly.
Saw Y&T last night on their 50th anniversary tour at KK’s in Wolverhampton. My mate had a spare ticket and I wasn’t that bothered about going. I went anyway and I’m so glad I did, they were incredible. Dave Meniketti played and sang his heart out, he’s unbelievable for almost 71 years of age. They did over 2 hours and the place was rocking!!
Thursday October 31st, Sportpaleis Antwerp, Belgium: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Wild God tour.
I saw Nick Cave in Luxemburg in August 2022. One of the best concerts ever, but he topped it this time. I have the impression he shook off some of his darker side, it surely shows in his new album.
2 hours and 45 minutes of joy!!
I’m just wondering how much space his stack of costumes must take in one of those big lorries we saw when we left the concert hall… Or how high his bill of dry-cleaning must be…

What a disappointment last night was.
Blues Traveller.
I guess they lived up to their reputation as a “jam band”.
No songs or structures to speak of, just a cacophony of noise with the harmonica being way too loud in the mix to boot.
For example they kicked off with their big nineties hit ,Run Around, which is 4.5 minutes on album, they turned this into a 16 minutes long hot mess.
We left before the end of the performance, something I rarely do…
Shout out to the support act though, Cody Dickinson, who was a vastly superior musical experience all round with a Memphis Blues sound and a tight five piece with an electric violin to boot.
That is a bummer as I have been a fan of theirs since the 80’s. I must say that I do enjoy the longer jams many bands do live over the bog standard album fair. I am glad you enjoyed the opening act and it was not a complete waste of your night.
