What is the latest concert you've been to? [2020-2025]

Oh I know you love their Christmas music all year round

The joke is that they have sold more concert tickets than albums

Ok..so you THINK y’all know exactly what TSO are all about don’t you?
Well dream on because I’m here to tell you that you know JACK!
I am still recovering.
TSO 2025 is a wildly different animal to previous TSO and for the better
A mean punchy proud rock outing tonight.
3 guitars, 2 keys, electric violin, bass, drums and 10 backing vocals so not lean but certainly mean.
Sure the first 90 minutes of the show was in Christmas spirit but still way more amped up than previous years.
Then a 12 string acoustic and single female vocal three song break.
Then an hour of breathtaking full on hard rock at its finest.
Some stuff from Beethoven album and a lot of new stuff.
Jeff Scott DeSoto was incredible tonight.
And that was just the music.
They also brought along the most majestic and involved light, stage and pyrotechnics show I have seen in a very long time including programed lighted drones over the audience .

To summarize.
If TSO are playing ANYWHERE near to you just go see them this year alright!
Pictures do not do the show any justice whatsoever.

Last night I saw Graceless, Pessimist and Sinister at Viper Room, Vienna.

Graceless (NL) started the evening with a great set packed with groovy old school death metal. Those guys where the reason I bought a ticket for the show and they didn’t disappoint. Definitely will catch them again if I have the chance.

Next up where Pessimist (US). Not my kind of style but better than I expected. From a technical point of view the best band of the night.

Headliner were Sinister (NL). The band is around since the late 80s but only one guy of the original lineup is left. I liked the first two albums but was never a big fan. Yesterday I realized it will probably stay that way. The crowd was pretty cool for a monday night though.

Amazing to see that Girlschool are still at it. Looks from the picture that it’s at least two of the original members. They must be at least 45 years as a band? Great stuff!

We seem to have a massive amount of European metalheads on the forum! :sign_of_the_horns:

Yesterday I went to “Morbidfest 2025” at Szene, Vienna. The extreme metal event is currently touring through Europe featuring Possessed, Terrorizer, Suicidal Angels, Nightfall and Ater.

Ater (CL) entered the stage a 6:20pm. The venue was not very crowded at this point. They played a nice set but unfortunately their music and stage presence are not really working to warm things up.

The atmosphere changed immediately after Nightfall (GR) started to play. More and more people showed up and by 8pm everyone was enjoying the show.

Suicidal Angels (GR) where added to the lineup a few weeks earlier as a replacement for Massacre who had to cancel the tour. It was my first time seeing the guys live and they did an amazing job. The place was pretty packed now and the greek thrashers played a great gig.

Up next were Terrorizer (US). The legendary death metal/grindcore act played their 1989 debut “World Downfall” in its entirety. The energy and brutality of their performance was incredible. The audience was going completely nuts and the place was on fire.

Possessed (US) was the final act of the Morbidfest 2025. The band is celebrating 40th anniversary of their 1985 landmark album “Seven Churches”. It was great to hear those old song live for the first time.

This was my last gig in 2025 and it’s time for a little break now.

Radiohead yesterday. Very good performance and setlist. I think the round stage worked relatively well. Though I’m not a fan of arena concerts.

I can’t compete with the amazing Radiohead at an impressive arena, but I did go to a concert on a boat in Bristol tonight to watch Denmark’s Saturnus and Finland’s Swallow the Sun play.

A night of Epic Doom and Death Metal tracks mixed up with beautiful melodic Rock track’s alone after the other.

It’s the first time I have been to Thelker in Bristol, but I do not expect it to be the last time.

Me thinks, i know these four gentlemen somehow…

Yes, it was Kraftwerk. Terrific multimedia show, sound quality was underwhelming, probably due to being that close to the subwoofer array.
