If the PLAY:3 is not capable of more than 48k, it should mean that that Roon is authenticating the stream (in a side channel), not decoding it, and passing the 48k stream to the PLAY:3.

i guess- it’s just confusing to see “authentication” of 192 as the last step before its passed to the Sonos.

Can the music of an album get lost behind it’s cover? Seems so.
I felt I should have been celebrating the 50th birthday of Ziggy, and yet the opening track of Aladdin Sane came on and made me realise two things.
Firstly, ‘Aladdin Sane’ is an amazing album.
Secondly, the opening track of most Bowie albums are absolute absolute blinders (think about it), and ‘Watch that Man’ is right up there. So much joy in that music.
