After catching a documentary about this album on Sky Arts, I had to give it a spin…

Should have posted this earlier in the Summer, as it turned out to be the BBC Radio 3 ‘Building a Library’ top recommendation…but it kind of fits the present.
Outstanding playing, singing and energy that takes the roof off.

If you liked the original and possibly best guitar album ever, you will not find what emerged from the second night surprising, just utterly thrilling.

MQA really brings out those razor sharp rhythms…exhilarating.

It is great to see that the greats of the Classical catalogue are still coming through. In 192k MQA, this is the best I’ve heard it.

I’m not a big fan of violin music, but do like Vivaldi, and was a bit disappointed by the recent ‘Four Seasons’ from Renaud Capuçon, much preferring Adrian Chandler’s dramatic version.

But I was reminded of the fire in the excerpts from Anne-Sophie Mutter. Even better, try track 16 for the most perfect version of the theme from ‘Schindler’s List’; truly breathtaking.
