When I bought my first (proper) hi-fi system in 1994 (Marantz CD63 → Denon PMA 450se → Revolver Purdy speakers) it was Arcam that I really lusted after but they were out of my budget.
Then when I had a budget to spend in 2004 Arcam seemed less attractive and Naim got my windfall purchase.
And now Arcam’s parent owns the service that I’ve come to rely on fully since 2016.
I cannot imagine it will be too long until we have an Arcam category.
2004 and 2016 were game changers in my hi-fi, I hope 2024 doesn’t necessitate another change.
As an Arcam ST60 user, such a category would be welcome. But if my experience is typical, it might not be heavily frequented since my ST60 ‘just works’ and is very good in the AQ department to boot.
I almost wrote this about my SA30, as I thankfully bought it once all the firmware updates (and software issues) were done and there has not been an update since.
I have never had a Roon issue with it ( hopefully it stays that way) so I am not sure I would have anything to post
Great device and musically sublime sound that always puts a smile on my face.
Well, if there will be an Arcam category, there should also be a JBL one too
Theoretically speaking, JBL Synthesis is the high-end version of Arcam AVRs/Amps
