I’m sure lots of us have a Roon endpoint of some description in the kitchen / dining area? There’s a Denon 250 doing its thing on the counter here whilst I do my best to create something decent to eat. For me, making food for my family whilst listening to great music and then enjoying each other’s company over a long dinner? That is very much a happy place for me.
With that in mind, I thought I’d start a thread. Not so much ‘what are you listening to whilst you’re cooking’ but more concentrating on ‘what are you cooking whilst you’re listening’ With that in mind, here are a few of mine from the last few months:-
Crispy pork ramen with home made noodles, pickled mushrooms, pickled eggs etc
My version of fajitas - actually a paste rather than a dry spice mix which is made from seven different dried chillis and Mexican oregano. These are flamed with Jack Daniels and served with various salsas and home made flour tortilla. Our youngest daughter’s favourite food and she’s been requesting this for birthdays since she was three.
Chicken, bacon and pear paella
Pizza night - I have a Gozney Arc outside (and a griddle, Kamado, Ninja Woodfire - I enjoy outdoor food!)
Thai - my eldest daughter’s favourite and her usually requested birthday meal
Burger night
Chinese table
Indian feast - I still can’t make a decent naan but will keep trying
Middle Eastern - my wife’s favourite is either something from this part of the world or French so her birthday usually goes one of those directions
That’s me for now - what have you all got cooking whilst listening to great music? Pulled pork here today albeit a cheat’s version in the pressure cooker as opposed to doing it properly on the Kamado but I haven’t got 12 hours spare today
