I have setup an Intel NUC 12 and it’s working great plugged in via ethernet to my router.
This isn’t really an issue more a question, should the NUC show this when connected via HDMI?
I think I saw somewhere that the Intel NUC 12 doesn’t support HDMI music but not really sure what that means and wanted to know if this is normal?
Again this is not a support query as Roon is working perfectly, more just I wanted to know if there was a way I could use HDMI connected to a monitor/tv to show what is current playing? Thanks!
No. ROCK is meant to be a server with no graphical interface or graphics at all. I run a pc plugged into my TV, and on that PC I run Roon as a client to the server, so I can see the interface on my large 55".
FYI - Certain devices can function as “displays” in Roon, like Shield TV, some Smart TVs, and some Blu-RAY players. They mostly just display the artwork and the lyrics.
Take a look under Settings\Displays (make sure your device is on and connected to the same network). To send to the display click on the volume icon and then click the display icon.
Mac Mini HDMI outputs a full Roon display to your Smart TV. So I have a 65" display in my music Roon. With a wireless keyboard and track pad, I can control my Roon experience with either the HDMI output or my iPad. I love it.
Hi Mike, I am guessing thats not the same when using an Intel Nuc? If not, do you know if the screenshot on my original post is what is supposed to be showing (if connected to a monitor/screen)
Yes, this is all that a ROCK/NUC system will display via HDMI - just the confirmation message that Roon OS is running and the network address of the device.
