What we are listening to [2016]

and

Just looking at the various screen shots. Seems Redbook (44/16) must still be king.

So let me ask a related question: What HiRez do you listen to, if any and at what resolution?

I’ve reinstated my Tidal subscription to enable me to listen to some of the albums mentioned here. ECM unavailable alas.

Listening to 2 albums by the criminally underrated Pierce Turner and the slightly less criminally underrated Paul Brady.

How have I managed to miss Fela in my 50 years on this planet?

Picked this up second hand lately, the Los Angeles sessions are powerful.

I must add a few Tidal albums.

I’ve just added these 2 from Tidal after browsing the reviews in the papers.

Time will tell but both these are sounding like keepers.

Funky :

No information in Roon, here is the paper article that put me on to this delightful music.

Gretchen Parlato this lazy afternoon

That’s a great album! What do you think: is the song Memorial Kitch or just fantastic. ( I think it is fantastic- but i am in the minority)

Yes, it’s absolutely amazing I think! But I live in Norway, so perhaps I’m a tad bias  . Memorial is a really epic piece I think.

Some music for St Patrick’s Day, an album that should have been more widely recognised for the genre bursting classic it is.

So good!

Another recommended from a post on CA of good demo discs.

Based on a metadata thread having difficulty with Art Farmer, I ended up here…

sounding interestingly good.
