Nothing to add to the reviewâŠ
Strange, just looking up before I post and see this here from today already.

Certainly coming from a rock perspective as I do, this is one of Milesâ more accessible points of entry.

Havenât listened to this for a while and forgot just how good it is. What an accomplished debut. Beth was a musical force long before she teamed with JB.
Rufus Cappadocia just appeared in my car shuffle. Reminded me I have neglected him. Itâs a wrong. He is fantastic. Does highly inappropriate things with a cello. This is my favorite album, solo.
I like cello, Anja Lechner does wonderful things, thatâs a separate post. But Cappadocia is more uncouth, does crazy stuff. Get the album!
I first heard him on this album, also fantastic:

Bethany Yarrow is the daughter of folk legend Peter Yarrow, but this album is quite personal. They also did Puff and Other Family Classics, not my thing.
However, Cappadocia also did this album, also fabulous but with more complex contributions by Barney McAll and Bacall Roy.
And he did this, quite radical, with an electric cello.
All strongly recommended.
For classicists, he shows new opportunities for a cello.
And for electric rockers, he shows the cello is a radical instrument.
I just wish he did more.
Letâs write to himâŠ
Hi @Peter_Hafkamp!
You beat me to it. I was going to post the same album. Listened to it this morning. I think itâs one of Gardotâs best. Love it!
I am still listening, enjoy it very much.
I had high hopes for this latest Melody Gardot, but it didnât do it for me . Far too jazz singer-ey, which isnât my thing. I greatly prefer her live albums TBH.
Thatâs exactly what I like so much about this albumâŠ
