I just got through playing the Tidal/MQA and Qobuz 24/96 version of this album. Despite being recorded by the same artist and production team, they sound quite different. I prefer the Tidal/MQA for “fuller” sound.

Forgotten how much I liked it
I must admit I’d been avoiding this, as I don’t really agree with Giles Martin thinking he can milk/improve a classic, but the “Esher tapes” (disk 3), and “Sessions” (disks 4-6) make it totally worth every penny. If you’re a Beatles fan, highly recommended. Roon’s data provider doesn’t know about a “Super Deluxe 6-CD set” though…
I love a great deep album cut.
Two of my favorites artists. The referenced track is great as is the rest of the album. I once had tickets to see Morricone at Teatro Del Silenzio in Tuscany. Unfortunately, the maestro had back surgery and the concert was cancelled. Bummer!
This is my favorite Al Stewart song. I used to listen to it on WHFS, the alternative rock station in Washington, D.C. I loved the astringent tag line of the station: “Less Songs By Dead People.”
Fantastic eponymous debut album for those who love simple guitar rock with trenchant lyrics and gloriously catchy pop melodies. Hard to find a bad cut on the album. Later in his career, I saw Crenshaw at a small concert venue in Greenville, S.C. It was awful, with Crenshaw dressed in Army fatigues and screaming horrible songs. I do love the evolution of some singers but this was beyond the pale…
