It was a little surprising to find I wasn’t the first to post this…
I’m a sucker for a well-crafted pop song, but even so, it isn’t every day that I discover something I really like on BBC Radio 1. This song came on the other day and really caught my ear. It hints at several traits uncommon in young artists: the preternatural musical sophistication that Tori Amos had early on, plus the world-weary pathos of Marilyn Manson. Looking forward to the album later this month!
Same here, Enno!
This album came up in a support thread! I’d never even heard of Terry Callier… My loss until now. This is a lovely album.
(TIDAL 16/44 with replaced cover because the original for this release is cropped; be careful, the other TIDAL album is AAC; two releases available on Qobuz)
Just listening to this as part of my festival prep.
One of my all time favourite bands and have recently purchased 12 of the 40th anniversary series cd’s/dvd’s. For some reason Robert Fripp will not allow any old releases for streaming and selling in any format which is a shame. Apparently he is cautious about illegal copying and losing revenue. Which is the reason I suppose.
As good as that album is, imho, this is the stunner. The opening track alone is amazing. @andybob take note
Released 43 years ago today!
On the way home so no Roon.
