Jacob Collier has been making my head explode for the last year or two. I’ve studied both traditional western theory and jazz harmony, and like many people who have done the same, I am routinely flummoxed by what Jacob is capable of doing. He adjusts his own multi-tracked vocal tracks from equal temperament to just intonation by ear in real time.
I’ve lost track of how many hours I’ve spent watching his performances, session teardowns, and talks on YouTube, and I only recently discovered the last few albums he released.
Oh my! Hopes voice just sucks me in so much. Don’t play this album as often as I should.
