Muddy Waters
(1941-42) The Complete Plantation Recordings (1993)
Many forget that Muddy was around and played incredible music long before he went electric and is arguably considered the father of Chicago Blues. His 60’s recording ‘Folk Singer’ is likely the release that most are familiar with in a non-electric setting.
This, however, is Muddy some 20 years prior and although prototype to his Chess sound these Alan Lomax recordings are very strong.
You will not regret it.
Coldplay never really stood a chance with me following Alan McGees brutal comments that he apparently regrets a little. That said there’s something about the production on this that makes it a guilty pleasure. I’ll be changing the bedding tomorrow though
Dynasty - Stan Getz Live at Ronnie Scott’s in 1971. Produced by George Martin. (Roon Display is used very sparingly, as the TV is an OLED.)
Well done !
