Max Reger is a composer that can get a little hard to digest if taken in too large chunks. His writing is just so dense. But if any of you have 16 mins to spend on something a bit off the beaten track - and definitly different to early baroque cantaras, try his „Requiem“ (track 3) from the attached CD beautifully performed by Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. Its not a Requiem in the liturgical sense, but rather a composition for Bariton, large choir and orchestra on a short text by Friedrich Hebbel. Its been in my library forever but can also be found on Qobuz.

I can’t stop listening to White Denim. I’ve got so much more to listen to but I’m ignoring all others for the sake of this mighty Texan outfit!

I have broken off to talk to the kids after school and to watch the latest episode of Line of Duty but I’m back on it now.

I’ve only been able to find this version on Quboz. Listening now but may be more receptive in a dark room with a dram. I’ll keep an eye out for Fischer-Dieskau version. Thank you for the intro.
